Identity Verification on Survey Sites
Why panels verify members, what information may be requested and how to check a verification request safely.

Quick answer
Identity checks can be a legitimate way to prevent duplicate accounts, fraud and misdirected rewards. Verify that the request is inside the official site or named provider flow, read what will be collected and never send documents through an unverified message channel.
Why verification happens
Panels may verify identity to enforce one-account rules, meet payment controls, protect rewards and reduce fraudulent or automated participation. A check may happen during registration, after unusual activity or before a reward is released.
What a platform may request
The exact process varies. Published flows can involve email, phone, residential details, identity documents, a selfie or confirmation through a payment account.
- Email or phone confirmation
- Address or country check
- Identity document
- Selfie or liveness check
- Verified payment account
Check the request before uploading
Start from the official platform rather than a link in an unexpected message. Check the domain, the named verification provider, the privacy notice and why the information is required.
A legitimate request should not ask for your password, one-time banking code or remote access to your device.
Payment verification can be separate
A platform can use a small cash-out or a linked payment account as part of reward verification. Qmee, for example, explains a PayPal-linked step before gift-card redemption. This should not be generalised to every panel.
If verification fails
Check whether the name, country and account details match, then use the provider's official support route. Avoid repeatedly submitting different details because inconsistencies can make a manual review harder.
Practical checklist
- Open the verification flow from the official account
- Check the domain and named provider
- Read why each item is needed
- Hide unrelated document details where the process permits
- Never share passwords or one-time codes
- Keep the support reference for a failed check

Is identity verification normal on survey sites?+
It can be. Some panels use verification to protect accounts and rewards, but the scope and timing vary.
Should I email a copy of my ID?+
Only follow the platform's verified official process. Do not send documents to an address or message channel you have not independently confirmed.
Why does a gift card require verification?+
Some platforms apply identity controls before gift-card redemption to prevent stolen balances or duplicate accounts.
Does verification guarantee payment?+
No. Verification can be one requirement, while reward approval and redemption rules still apply separately.
